Concrete Blonde Performs at RSSF Fundraiser!

The show was billed as a performance by Johnette Napolitano — but she brought her band and it became a surprise concert by Concrete Blonde, to the delight and excitement of everyone who attended the fundraiser for the Rock School Scholarship Fund at SoundBite Studios in LA on November 19th. Two of the kid bands performed as well – The Blacktop Saints opened, and The Kingstons followed. Parents at the School of Rock in North Hollywood organized the event, to raise money for scholarship students. Silent auction and raffle items included a guitar donated by Patrick Matera (guitarist for Katy Perry) signed by Jay Leno, Tom Morello, Ben Harper and many others who were guests on the Tonight Show on Friday Nov. 18th. Co-Founder Carl Restivo, who is in Tom Morello’s band, The Nightwatchman, brought the guitar to the Tonight Show on the 18th, to get a couple of signatures. When Jay Leno, the band and guests learned about the fundraiser, they all chipped in and signed!
