R.J. Rousso

Entertainment entities (whether actors, products, or brands) looking to establish themselves in the minds of media and consumers can look to energetic and well-connected R.J. Rousso to do the job. The Los Angeles native and UC Santa Barbara graduate defines what it means to be an industry leader. Using his stellar qualifications with top PR firms, R.J. formed RFPR, Inc. in 2002.

As Senior Publicist for Harrison and Shriftman, R.J. managed Mercedes-Benz, Hard Rock Hotel, GQ, and National Amusements accounts (working directly with Shari Redstone). While serving as West Coast Publicity Director for Lizzie Grubman/Peggy Siegal, R.J. managed key corporate accounts including: Chanel, Pamela Dennis, AOL, and adidas. He also produced launch parties for KOBE/adidas, Chanel, Pamela Dennis, Sisqo’s Billboard Awards Party, and the Launch of Lucky Magazine.

More recently, as a partner and EVP of Communications & Marketing at RFPR, R.J. has produced and managed: The Warhol Factory x Levi’s® x Damien Hirst Spring 2008 Fashion Show at the Gagosian during New York Fashion Week, the launch of Samsung’s Diane Von Furstenberg’s cell phone for Vogue Magazine, Crustacean’s 10 year Anniversary, the opening of AnQi Gourmet Bistro in South Coast Plaza, the launch of the Levi’s® brand´s “Care to Air” program, the launch of Suite 501® at the Ace Hotel, Twalib Kweli’s album release party, ChocolateBox Café’s Grand Opening at the Malibu Lumber Yard, amongst many others.

As the lead executive for the entertainment agency of Levi Strauss and Co® on the West Coast for over 8 years, R.J. has managed entertainment and lifestyle public relations for the fashion powerhouse while spearheading national programs and devising intuitive ways of garnering publicity and exceeding expectations.

RFPR’s clients enjoy amazing levels of exposure not only in regional publications but on national television shows like E!’s “Daily 10”, The Today Show and Dr. Phil. Perhaps this is why, in RFPR’s first year of business, R.J. was named as someone you “must know” in Los Angeles by L.A. Confidential Magazine and Angeleno listed R.J. as a “Hollywood heavy hitter” in one of its first issues. R.J. has also been called to moderate panels at Digital Hollywood Conference, and give quotes for the New York Times Style Section and People Magazine.

R.J.’s experience, youthful enthusiasm, and extensive contact list all add up to a win-win situation for potential clients. Although a boutique firm, RFPR is a proven industry leader in the public relations field. In addition to his full-time job, R.J. sits on the West Coast Board of Directors for the TJ Martell Foundation, the Matinal Board of the Rock School Scholarship Fund, and the Development Committee of the Trevor Project.
